Old Dominion Realty website gets face lift, SEO enhancements

About one year ago, Delta Media Group rolled out its real estate SEO program. Twelve months later, several real estate brokerages across the country have significantly improved their Web presence and search engine visitors using the program.

One such brokerage is Old Dominion Realty, a real estate company with five offices throughout northern Virginia and southeast West Virginia. Efforts were also made to drive search engines to index the several thousand listings Old Dominion Realty's website offers, each from property search results pages with SEO-friendly URLs, page titles, meta descriptions and more. Delta Media Group's content team began creating market content for the website, researching each market place so the website can provide the most thorough market information for Harrisonburg real estate and surrounding areas.

Old Dominion Realty has seen the results. Already a significant player in the Harrisonburg VA, Broadway VA, Moorefield WV and Franklin WV real estate markets, Old Dominion Realty saw a large increase in traffic from search engines as well as an increase in leads and spike in search engine rankings for keywords. Before SEO work began, the website failed to rank in the top ten search engine pages for any major keywords. Now, the site can be found on page one and page two of Google and Bing for dozens of market related keywords.

July home sales drop 27 percent, but brokerages using SEO services see lead increases

As mentioned in this morning's blog post, existing home sales plunged by a staggering 27.2 percent in July, bringing the seasonally adjusted annual rate to 3.83 million units, down from 5.26 million in June.

The home sales decline is consistent with data Delta Media Group has seen among its more than 30,000 real estate agent websites and 300 real estate brokerage websites across the nation. Real estate leads began dropping off in late April and carried on through June as result of the homebuyer tax credit expiration. But leads began picking back up rapidly through late June and July and August for those brokerages using Delta Media Group's Real Estate Search Engine Optimization services.

Less than three weeks into August, one brokerage had already received double the amount of online leads as it did the entire month of June (before it went on Delta Media Group's SEO program).

Another brokerage had more portfolios created on its real estate website in July than ever before, and 55 percent more portfolios than its monthly average over the past two years. July was also the brokerage's second highest online lead month ever.

Even more impressively, a six-agent real estate brokerage also had more leads in July than ever before--115 leads, to be exact, to go along with its 113 portfolio creations in the same month.

These are only a few examples of the significant lead and portfolio increases Delta Media Group SEO customers saw despite July's 27 percent home sales decrease.

While July lead data doesn't always translate to July home sales data, it reflects an upward trend of what's to come for SEO customers. These same customers saw less of a downward impact when the homebuyer tax credit expired, and are currently out-prospering their competition for online market share as leads begin to recover following the tax credit hangover.

Delta Media Group received some press this week when the Jackson-Belden Chamber of Commerce (JBCC) released its new 'Business Development Opportunity in Jackson' video.

The JBCC Business Development Opportunity video highlights the business opportunities and growth in the Jackson Township area. At the 1:57 mark, the video pans Delta Media Group's headquarters as the narrator reads, "Delta Media Group: Developers of a robust online business development application that powers some of the most influential real estate companies in the country."

Delta Media Group attends REAL Trends Gathering of Eagles conference

As previously mentioned, Delta Media Group recently attended the REAL Trends Gathering of Eagles conference in Las Colinas, Texas.

Gathering of Eagles is a prestigious invite-only real estate conference for the brokers and top-level management of top-ranked real estate brokerages and those considered "up and comers."

Margaret Kelly, Pam O’Connor, Alex Perriello and Mark Willis, CEO’s of the nation’s largest networks, presented their views on where they see their focus and how they think brokerages will evolve; where growth will be found. Rich Barton of Zillow, Channing Dawson of HGTV’s FrontDoor.com and Errol Samuelson of Realtor.com shook the audience with their presentations and the powerful force of mobile Web access, the skyrocketing explosion of social media and the latest and greatest in search and content in the online world. These leaders all believed that housing was slowly but surely healing and that leaders had to be focused on the means and tactics of growth.

Inman Study: Brokers increasing recruiting, tech...Are you?

A new article on Inman News says surveyed real estate brokerages are cutting back on office staff and marketing, but increasing spending in new technologies and agent recruiting.

The Inman News article is based on a broker survey Inman conducted, and says brokers over the past year have not pushed to increase desk fees and commission splits with agents. The survey also shows 77 percent of brokers have made additions to their foreclosure/distressed properties businesses over the past year.

The article is currently behind Inman.com's pay wall, so only Inman subscribers will be able to access it in its entirety. But based on the findings stated, we'd love to hear what your brokerage is doing.
